Parkinson’s disease: A journey of courage and hope

Parkinson’s disease is more than a diagnosis — it’s a daily journey that requires compassion, understanding, and support. No one should have to face it alone. Behind every person living with Parkinson’s is incredible strength, resilience, and a family navigating challenges with courage. With awareness, empathy, and community support, lives can be uplifted, dignity can be preserved, and hope can continue to grow even in the face of the disease.

Who we aim to help

This page is dedicated to everyone touched by Parkinson's disease. We specifically aim to support individuals living with Parkinson’s, ensuring they feel seen, understood, and never alone. We also extend our focus to families and caregivers, acknowledging their emotional and physical dedication, and offering them much-needed resources. Our broader goal is to inform the general community, fostering awareness, compassion, and a true understanding of what living with Parkinson’s entails, beyond just the diagnosis.

Myra’s heart, our mission

Myra’s story is one of strength, endurance, and unwavering love.

She lived with Parkinson’s disease, a condition that slowly challenges movement, independence, and everyday moments many take for granted. Despite the tremors, stiffness, and fatigue, Myra continued to show up for her family with grace. Parkinson’s tested her body, but it never touched her spirit. She faced each day with courage, faith, and determination, teaching everyone around her what resilience truly looks like.

As her health journey continued, Myra also required a pacemaker—another reminder of how hard her body was working just to keep going. Where some might have seen limits, Myra showed perseverance. The pacemaker symbolized her heart’s will to keep beating, to keep loving, and to keep fighting for more time with the people she cherished most.

Through Parkinson’s and heart disease, Myra became a living example of strength through adversity. She endured not for recognition, but out of love—love for her children, her family, and her community. Her journey revealed how illness can change a body, but never the heart behind it.

Myra’s Heart & Hope Foundation exists because of her story. It stands for those fighting silent battles, for families navigating illness together, and for the belief that even in the hardest seasons, hope can still lead the way.
